The overwhelming amount of data created by leading companies comes from diverse digital customer touch points and machine-generated events. Imagine a world where we can make fact-based decisions using all of that data, where we can understand each customer and find patterns spanning every touch point. During the session attendees will learn how Big Data Analytics is the difference between fact-based enterprises and those focused on the shallow BI beauty contest.

Platfora

Ben Werther is the Founder & CEO of Platfora. He founded the company in 2011 to realize his vision of how Hadoop and Big Data Analytics will transform the way every business user uses data and move beyond the fiction, feeling and faith that underlies most business decisions.

Under Werther’s direction, Platfora has grown from an idea sketched on a napkin to one of the hottest enterprise startups in Silicon Valley and a leader of the Big Data Analytics category. Platfora’s mission is to empower customers to leverage Big Data Analytics to transform their businesses into Fact-Based Enterprises. Designed for business users, the company’s product is the first visual self-service platform for interactively and iteratively interrogating enormous amounts of data, and masking the complexity of Hadoop, to connect behavior, actions and results across multiple domains of data.

Werther has had an extensive track-record as a product visionary and strategic leader. Prior to Platfora, he was Vice President of Products for DataStax, where he shaped the company’s early enterprise and Hadoop strategy. Prior to DataStax, he was the head of product at Greenplum (through the EMC acquisition), and ran product strategy and product marketing for the company.

Werther is an industry leader and a frequent speaker on big data and Enterprise Software topics. He holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from Monash University (Australia) and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
