Have you been wondering what the big deal is with Python? Why are so many companies using it?

You can learn the basics of Python in less than a day and start being productive with it. Its succinctness and power enable data scientists to explore and examine data quickly and with agility.

This hands-on tutorial will show you firsthand the power of Python. It will cover:

  • REPL
  • Getting help
  • Lists
  • Dictionaries
  • Functions
  • Whitespace
  • Iteration
  • Slicing
  • I/O
  • Exceptions
  • Plotting with Matplotlib
  • Data wrangling with Pandas

Please come with a laptop that has Python 2.7 installed (we’ll cover the differences in Python 3). The format will be a series of brief lectures followed by hands-on assignments.

Participants will also receive an ebook and handouts that covers the content.

Is it possible to have the slides, or a github repository with the code samples?

Would it be possible to post the slides here, like the other speakers have?
