Ignite: Enlighten Us, But Make it Quick

The call for Ignite Presenters is open for Strata Santa Clara. Ignite Strata happens Monday, February 25, from 6:30pm – 8:45pm at the Hyatt Santa Clara

If selected, Ignite presenters will receive a day pass of their choice for Strata. Please contact speakers@oreilly.com with any questions.

Big Data, ubicomp, and new interfaces: The quantified society

Strata Conference is thrilled to host Ignite on Monday, February 25, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. We’ll be putting a special focus on how data is collected, analyzed, and interpreted to understand and shape the world around us, from the quirky to the sublime to the downright creepy.

Ignite delivers thought-provoking ideas in bite-sized, five-minute chunks. Join us for a fun, high-energy series of talks by Strata attendees and the Bay Area Ignite community—all aspiring to live up to the Ignite motto, “Enlighten us, but make it quick.”

We’re interested in any topic as long as it’s interesting, and related in some way to the theme—it might be a how-to, a travelogue, something inspirational, lessons learned, or a forecast. We’re always looking for new speakers, but are not interested in product demos. Speakers are limited to 20 slides, which automatically advance after 15 seconds – that’s the fun of Ignite!

If you’re interested in speaking at Ignite Strata SC 2013, please submit your proposal today. All submissions are due by midnight, January 25, 2013, and we’ll be notifying those chosen by February 4, 2013.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration to Strata Conference is not required to attend.
