A new generation of businesses is betting that data-driven products can give us all an edge in healthcare. Startups that put data first aren’t just able find their product and market better—they’re also changing the ailing infrastructure of the healthcare system, upending traditional systems, and breaking down barriers to entry for patients and caregivers.

Showcase your company to industry leaders

This year at Strata Rx, we’ll be inviting groundbreaking startups to show their stuff to the world. The Startup Showcase is a chance for 12 finalists to demonstrate their innovations to a packed room of investors, entrepreneurs, journalists, and potential employees. At the end of the showcase, our judges will choose a winner and a runner up, selecting those whose technology, team, and offering stand apart from the rest.

Our team of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry analysts will select 12 leading big data startups from all the submissions we receive. If your company is chosen to participate, we’ll provide you with a small table and room for two people to demo at the Startup Showcase on October 16; you’ll bring a laptop (or two) and a founder (or two). As they walk around, attendees will vote online for their favorite demos, and our judges will take notes.

The judges will choose the Best of the Best as well as a Runner-Up, and attendees will choose an Audience Choice Award winner. These three winners will be announced from the stage the morning of Wednesday, October 17, and given 10–15 minutes of session time that afternoon to present to a seated audience and receive direct feedback.

How do you qualify to participate? We’re looking for:

• Relatively young healthcare (and healthcare-related) startups that aren’t drowning in investment (yet)
• Companies incorporating new technologies and/or innovative business models in their approach to healthcare

Important dates and details:

• To get started, complete our Startup Showcase application before September 17, 2012
• Once we’ve received all the applications, we’ll review them and contact the 12 finalists by September 24, 2012
If selected, you’ll receive two passes to attend Strata Conference (at least one of your representatives in attendance must be a founder or C-level equivalent)
• You’ll make your own way there
• The showcase takes place on Tuesday, October 16
• You’ll supply your own laptop for the demos
• We’ll supply a tabletop, power, and bandwidth within the showcase area
• Winners will be announced on stage on Wednesday, October 17
• If you are chosen as the Best of the Best, the Runner-Up, or the Audience Choice Award winner, you will have 10–15 minutes of session time to make a presentation on Wednesday, October 17
